Our Story,
I started doing construction in 1994 when I was 18. I worked my way up through the years from the floor sweeper guy all the way to Project Manager. After I built my first house, I fell in love with the process. I made sure I did every job that I could to learn every aspect of the trade.
I worked bringing dilapidated houses up to code for years. This is where I gained an immense amount of knowledge into what can happen if things are done wrong and the negative long term effects it can have on a house.
After that I went to college and received an Associates Degree in Welding and Blueprint reading, graduating at the top of my class. I spent several years in commercial construction, working as a welder, carpenter and heavy equipment operator. We built massive churches, stores and whatever else the town I lived in needed.
I then moved on to mega-mansions and high end homes, where I learned to take the framed house to a magnificent finished work of art, working with some of the finest craftsman that money could buy. I learned a lot from these people, and I am still in touch with many of them today.
From there I became a project manager for a GC building multi-family homes. Which was great until 2008 when the construction industry grinded to a halt.
Forced to pivot my career slightly, I went to Lutherie school in Atlanta Georgia and learned to build guitars. This is where I studied the elaborate intricacies that wood has and how to build with extreme precision as I worked under 4 master luthiers to obtain my licensing.
After 5 years of having my own guitar repair shop, the construction industry picked up again and I was able to get back into my true love full time. Building houses. I enjoyed building guitars, but I love homebuilding and repairs because of how much it allows me to help others regain a quality of life with a well functioning home, plus I like to travel around.
I obtained my General Contractors license in 2016 and have been on my own ever since, mainly doing major repairs and a custom home build once a year.
I moved to Charleston from Asheville NC in 2020 because I fell in love with the rich history and architecture here. I quickly found that there was a huge need for a Contractor that showed up on time and did EXACTLY what they said they would do. I have met so many great customers here and I have been staying busy with rental repairs on Folly Beach, to full custom home builds here on James Island. Turns out if you do good work, then you really don't have to advertise, which explains my lack of social media presence. I post on those sites every once in a while to stay somewhat relevant, but I don't post a lot of my jobs out of respect for my customers privacy. Some people don't want the whole world to see their homes and I agree and respect that decision.
Even after 30 years I still love this job and pride myself on showing up on time, being respectful, polite and all inclusive. I was raised to respect everyone and I still guieded by those values today.
Feel free to contact me for a free estimate! Thanks for reading my crazy long work bio too! Have a great day.
